Siemens i-Dos Review
They make reliable machines. Of course, I didn’t know that when I was standing in the shop confused. I would have never bought Siemens Washing Machine, if it was not for my wife. Thanks I did! I had a Daewoo (don’t know the model) washing machine. We bought it when we moved to the UAE about 7 years ago. I am not sure if that is the lifespan of a washing machine but the engine started knocking about 2-3 weeks ago. It started to make rattling sounds and sometimes would knock off stuff on top of the washing machine. I hate repairing anything, especially electronics items. Once opened for repair it would keep having issues every now and then. I decided to buy a new one. As usual, I did my research online. Watched bunch of review videos on YouTube. Read numerous blogs on best washing machines. Finally, I was so confused between Siemens Washing Machine, Bosch and LG. I decided to go with a brand that my parents have used before, LG. So I checked the best washing machine that LG produces and finalized buying LG Twin-Tub Well that is what I had in mind.
Washing Machine Shopping
when I reached the shop. You might be wondering, now more than ever people are buying things online and why I visited the shop. First, If you order from any online platform it takes almost a week to deliver. Secondly and most important one, my wife is comfortable with someone who can give a demo in her native language. This machine will be used by my wife more than me. She needs to understand the operational aspect of it. Something these online platforms should consider. Maybe integrate it in the purchase process. Anyway, we went to the shop to buy a washing machine. I saw the LG twin tub for which I had seen reviews. It was huge. 17Kg main heavy duty drum and 12KG small drum for your delicates. I liked it as soon as I saw it. A Sales guy came over to us and tried to sell us Frigidaire. He said it is the best brand. I am not convinced as I have never used the brand.
German Washing Machines
German technology is far superior. I have used Bosch which is very good. My brother has been using Bosch for the past 6 years and had no issues. The sales guy said, we should go for Siemens washing machines. It was not as costly as LG washing machines which is what my wife was looking for, cheap deals. It has lesser capacity than LG and has an in-built dryer. The features were almost the same as the Daewoo washing machine we had. It is always better to have a separate dryer if you want to dry clothes well. The in-built one won’t be as efficient as a separate one but it can get the job done to some extent. It can dry 75% – 80%. You will still need to dry it in the sun for some time. But an hour drying would be more than enough. So, we ordered the German machine and the demo was given in the language we required. Thus happy wife, happy me.
